Una guardiana
A guardian at the entrance — every hive has them
We are a force of many pollinating hearts, voices and hands on the land, rooted in every corner of Abya Yala (the Americas). We are a network of networks of people and organizations, bound by our love of indigenous bees and all pollinators; we share memory, identity, experience and labor to rebuild the community fabric, recreating habitats for native bees — both social and solitary — and for all pollinating wildlife.
Our network seeks to build new ways of relating between human and non-human beings that make up the territories. We want to challenge inequalities (rural-urban, north-south, class, race, gender and more) and recover our personal, collective and territorial power. For us, indigenous bees and native pollinators are teachers and an ethical inspiration for inhabiting this planet with historical, ecological, political and cultural consciousness.
We recognize that we are part of the earth; that we are equal but different, and so we are always in movement. This movement is transformative: it mobilizes consciousness and a commitment to collective healing — physical, material and spiritual. Our work is permanent, born of historical indignation and of love.
Our community is rooted in resilience — we have survived much and keep rising; in joy — we don't count the days, we find joy in the everyday, in the small, in gathering together; in identity and memory — in the capacity to fight forced forgetting; and in honest work with the territory and its pollinators.
Our mission is to help people connect deeply with the land, with themselves and with one another — through the awakening of memory, identity, the strength of all the senses, and the situated experience of sharing ancestral knowledge about native bees and pollinators — in an environment of honesty, humility, critical consciousness, belonging and authenticity.

Identity, solidarity economy and wellbeing — built from honest work with the bees and the land.
We are migrant beings, just like the native bees — connected from the mountains to the sea and across the seas. Our territory is our relationships and the land we inhabit. No one is illegal in the world.

We deeply respect the spirituality, culture and knowledge of indigenous, Afro-descendant, working-class, peasant and popular communities of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America — and of migrant peoples everywhere.
Agroecology belongs to those who do the work. We resist the capitalist ego in order to work with humility, honoring the path and effort of others. Territory is relationship — and relationships must be respected.
Here, no one knows everything and no one is ignorant of everything. We defend knowledge by sharing it as equals — with open minds and honest hearts.
We live in a colonial, capitalist, patriarchal, racist and cruel world. We commit to being aware of power gaps (gender, origin, class) and the privileges we carry, and we mobilize for individual and collective transformation — spiritual and material.
Our network lives from the active exchange of feelings and doings. To participate is an act of love, of respect, and of honoring the word given in collective agreements.
We put our gifts at the service of the community with commitment, grounded in care and dignity, to achieve fair, solidarity-based and popular exchange. We recognize abundance not as monetary value but as healthy relationships and wellbeing.
We have re-signified the relationship with native bees as a common legacy of indigenous, peasant, Afro-descendant and popular sectors of Latin America, the Caribbean and the BIPOC migrant community of North America. We speak from our bodies-territories, from our pain, and we work to care for what is ours.

We began our organization in Nicaragua in 2010, driving diverse initiatives around native bees. We formed the Red Nicaragüense de Meliponicultura (RNM) — we held international gatherings across Central America, and the group kept growing, led by women. We came together with women's collectives from South and North America who were moved by the same pain and who worked against the current, co-creating other realities. That is how we wove alliances and mutual support through work in our territories, collective memory and hope.
